The Gentry's

ABOUT US

The Gentry’s have been traveling locally sharing the gospel in song for four and a half years.

Larry, the daddy, sang for many years with local trios and quartets.  At the age of 19, he traveled and played bass guitar with the LeFevre's.  This experience sparked a desire that one day his family might share Jesus in song.  Now at the age of “ ? “, Larry is full-filling a dream with his family.

Morgan, 19, the oldest daughter fell in love with gospel music watching her dad sing and learned every song word for word.  She now sings alto and plays the piano.  2004 we released our first CD with a song entitled “Here Comes the Bride” which features Morgan.  Since then, this song has touched many hearts and is requested almost everywhere we go.  Currently, Morgan is attending Georgia Highlands College where she is a sophomore.  Morgan loves the Lord and in whatever career she chooses her prayer is to glorify God.

Erika, recently turning 16 years old, sings the soprano part and folks are surprised at the voice she has at such a young age.  She too, like Morgan, had watched her dad sing, while keeping up step by step with big sister.  Erika sings with the authority of the Lord and gives a new fresh twist to old songs like “I’ll Fly Away” and “We’ll Soon Be Done”.  At 11 years old she recorded the song “Testify”.  This song has become Erika’s connection with the younger generation and especially children.  Erika is a sophomore at Excel Christian Academy.  She is active in beta club, FCA, chorus, and was a basketball cheerleader this past season.

Trenton, 11 years old, is the newest addition to the ministry.  He recently recorded his first song on our latest CD, “There’s A Promise Coming Down That Dusty Road”.  Trenton plays the piano and violin.  He recently started learning to play the trumpet at school. He also attends Excel Christian Academy.

Least, but not last, there is mom, Jeannie.  She takes on the responsibility of the group.  She runs the sound, takes bookings, etc.  She may not sing, but sure can make them sound great.

The Gentry’s are also active in their church.  We attend Spring Creek Baptist Church where all are apart of choir.  Larry, Jeannie, Morgan and Erika sing in the adult choir. And Trenton sings in the children’s choir. Larry also plays the bass guitar during worship service.

The Gentry’s can proudly proclaim that all members of the family have accepted Christ as their personal Savior.  Our goal as a family is to share Christ with those we come in contact with as well as those who hear our music.
